Summary
This free sentence rewriter runs a rule-based copy desk pass on any line you paste. It swaps wordy phrases for short ones, cuts filler and stock buzzwords, then flags long sentences, passive voice and empty words for you to fix by hand. Every edit is listed so you can overrule it, and nothing leaves your browser. It is not AI, so the same input always gives the same output.
Sentence Rewriter That Cuts the Padding
Paste a line from your deck. Desk 3 strikes the filler, shortens the phrases and flags what only you can fix.
A copy desk checklist, not a guess
Phrases get shorter
A fixed list of wordy constructions is swapped for plain ones. "Due to the fact that" becomes "because". "Has the ability to" becomes "can". The same input always gives the same output.
Filler is struck
Words that add volume but no meaning, such as "very", "really" and "basically", are cut. In Full mode the stock adjectives go too: "seamless", "robust", "cutting-edge". If one follows a linking verb, the tool leaves it and flags it, because cutting would break the sentence.
The rest is flagged
Long sentences, likely passive voice and empty words like "synergy" are listed for you. These need a decision about who did what, and that decision is yours. The tool does not pretend otherwise.
Three passes on one weak line
-
1
Paste the line you least trust
Pick the sentence from slide 2 or 3, the one that opens with the company and not with the problem. One sentence is enough to see how the tool behaves.
-
2
Read the edits, not just the output
The list under the rewrite tells you each cut and each swap. Reject any you disagree with. The rewrite is a proposal from a copy desk, not a ruling.
-
3
Fix the flags yourself
Split the long sentences. Turn passive lines into who-did-what. Replace each empty word with the fact it was hiding. That last step is the actual rewrite.
What a pass does to a typical deck line
Take "We leverage cutting-edge AI in order to deliver a seamless experience." Eleven words of positioning and no fact a reader could check. The desk reads it the way a VC does: quickly, and with mild suspicion. After the pass it is "We use AI to deliver an experience." Seven words. Shorter, and now plainly empty, which is the useful part. The next edit is yours: which experience, for whom, measured how? Put the number where the adjective was.
- Phrases shortened: "in order to" to "to", "leverage" to "use"
- Stock adjectives cut: "cutting-edge", "seamless"
- Left for you: the missing fact
What this tool will not do
It does not score your writing
There is no grade, because any single score for prose would be invented. You get a word count before and after, which is a plain fact, plus a list of edits and flags.
It does not understand meaning
It matches phrases. It cannot tell that a sentence is false, vague in a way no list would catch, or in the wrong order. Read the result aloud once, as an editor would.
