Over 16 days and 19 recorded meetings, its Shadow Agent turned a 38-minute pipeline call into a 6-slide deck in under five minutes, something Otter.ai's transcript-only product does not attempt. Verdict: 7.6/10. Best for a desk that needs a deck, not a transcript.

We signed up for TicNote's Professional plan ($16.58/month billed annually, 1,500 transcription minutes) on July 14, 2026, and used it daily through July 30, a 16-day window chosen to cover more than two working weeks, not a single week of good behavior. We recorded 19 real meetings through the Chrome extension on Google Meet and Zoom web, uploaded 5 supporting documents, and assigned Shadow Agent 11 tasks: three investor-style slide decks, two client report drafts, one mind map, and five ad hoc knowledge-base questions. We did not test TicNote's physical hardware recorder, a separate product from the same company, only the cloud software reachable from any browser. All screenshots are from TicNote's own public product pages, captured by us in August 2026.

- Third-party review coverage is thin for a decision this size G2 lists a TicNote Cloud seller page with zero reviews. Capterra, Trustpilot and Product Hunt show no dedicated listing. The clearest signal is the Apple App Store at 4.0/5 (21 ratings) and Google Play at 3.1/5 (66 reviews), several of which complain about the hardware subscription model, not the Cloud software we tested.
Final verdict
TicNote earns its place on this page because of what happens after the meeting, not during it. If your search for an otter ai review was really a search for a better live transcript, captions scrolling as people talk, Otter.ai remains the more mature choice on that single point. But if the transcript was never the finish line, if what you actually wanted was a deck, a report, or an answer with a working citation back to the exact minute someone said it, TicNote's Shadow Agent does something Otter.ai's product does not currently attempt.
Sixteen days and 19 meetings is not a verdict on every workflow. Heavy users will burn through the free tier fast, and anyone who needs the on-screen live transcript should stop reading and go sign up for Otter.ai instead; we will not pretend otherwise. For everyone else, especially desks turning calls into decks for people who were not on the call, the Professional plan at $16.58/month is a reasonable trade for real time back.
Recommended for: founders, sales leaders and consultants who need finished output from meetings. Not recommended for: anyone who only wants a live captions view, or who records less than an hour a month.
